I've been playing a very old GBA game called Yugioh: the Sacred Cards lately. Rather weirdly, the cards don't necessarily do what they do in real life, your deck strength is limited, and certain card types can automatically destroy other types regardless of their respective attack/defense strengths, making it rather challenging to play since it requires a switch in thinking from the usual game.

My kid just bought Smash Bros. Melee off of Ebay and has been lost in it for hours.

I've finished the Sacred Cards and am now moved on to Reshef of Destruction -- I also just bought Cooking Mama for Nintendo DS on sale for $10.

However I'm running out of games that I like on my DS -- I've discovered I like the RPG-style games the best (tell me a good story...) -- racing or whatever just to beat the clock or rack up points seems to bore me to tears (and I'm pretty lousy at it besides), but I really like having plotlines and scenarios. So MarioKart does nothing for me, but Pokemon Pearl and Yugioh Nightmare Troubadour / GX Spirit Caller worked.

So does anyone have any good recommendations? I'm willing to play something older (and cheaper! -- cheaper is good!). Is Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney any good? Any other ideas?

Although we have a Wii, and my kid has a PS2, I seem to do best with the DS -- it's portable, and quiet, so I don't have to worry about bothering anyone else with the sound, and I can play it in odd moments like waiting to pick up the kid at school, or in the doctor's waiting rooms, or in bed when everyone else is asleep. I really like my DS.

So I recently got a PS3 mainly for the blu-ray player for my entertainment system. I have one boxing game, and embarrasingly, I'm horrible at playing it! I am not used to so many buttons.... and having a hard time figuring out which games would be good to get. Ah well.

Well, we're attending Pokemon trading card game organized play league, and trying to start one for Yugioh -- but then again, somedays we just play cards around the table....

When I was on Windows, I played a lot of World Championship 2008. I got stuck in World Championship 2009. Trudge was a pain to go up against. I swear he cheated every time we went up against each other. Yet I know there's a way to beat him. I got pretty fair one time. I just HAD to hit the side of the racing track.

I haven't been able to find any games that work on Ubuntu. There are a thousand solitaire versions to play on here that I like to play without looking at the rules. I prefer to figure it out. If I can't, I look at the rules. XP I don't know the name of the classic solitaire game, the one we're all familiar with. I had to go and pick a random version without checking.

I wish I could play a game on Ubuntu. It would take my mind off things. I want an RPG game to play. I love those.
